Earthshine
Sometimes what we think we see is not what we see. This is probably the case with what is called earthshine. Earthshine is a soft, faint glow on the shadowed part of the moon caused by the reflection of sunlight from the Earth. It happens when the light from the sun is reflected from the earth's surface to the moon and back to our eyes. This painting is not an accurate depiction, just how I feel about the term. It is acrylic on deep wood panel with bit of collage and charcoal pencil.
